New South Wales has ‘satisfied another important hurdle’

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says the state has “satisfied anther important hurdle” with 75 per cent of residents having received at least the first dose of a vaccine. “We will all rest easy once we get to at least 80 per cent first dose, knowing full-well that we’ll hit that double 80 per cent vaccination rate,” Premier Berejiklian said during a media conference on Wednesday. The Premier said 42 per cent of the state’s residents are now fully vaccinated. It was announced that on Wednesday there had been 1,480 new local COVID-19 cases recorded in the state.
